At WIPP, we believe children learn best when they feel happy, supported, and free to play and explore.
Our play-based approach encourages creativity, builds strong social skills, and helps children develop the early academic foundations they need for future success.
Through a thoughtful mix of free play, guided activities, and hands-on learning in both our classrooms and outdoor spaces, we nurture each child’s natural curiosity and love of learning.
TWOS PROGRAM - THE JOURNEY BEGINS
2 Day Program (T/TH) | 3 Day Program (MWF)
5 Day Program (M-F)
Two-year-olds are just beginning their journey into the world of education. During this stage, children are learning how to separate from their families, build trust with their teachers, and feel safe and comfortable in their classroom environment. With gentle guidance and support, they begin to develop a sense of independence while also learning what it means to be part of a caring classroom community.
Language development is woven into every part of the day. Teachers talk with children throughout all activities, using age-appropriate language to describe the world around them. By modeling words and conversation, teachers help children express their needs, connect with their peers, and move from playing side by side to beginning cooperative play.
THREES PROGRAM - DIVING DEEPLY INTO LEARNING
3 Day Program (MWF) | 5 Day Program (M-F)
The world of the three-year-old is full of conversation, imagination, curiosity, and growing friendships. At this stage, children have moved through separation and are beginning to take pride and ownership in their classroom space. With a developing understanding of how to interact and socialize with their peers, teachers gently challenge three-year-olds to expand their thinking, strengthen their social skills, and explore new ideas through play and guided experiences.
We create opportunities for children to practice patience by taking longer turns and sharing materials with their peers. As their focus grows, we gradually extend meeting times and introduce longer stories to help build attention and listening skills. Now that children are comfortable coming together as a whole group, we gently challenge them to work in pairs and small groups as they explore classroom activities and engage with the curriculum.
FOURS (PRE-K) PROGRAM - GETTING READY TO MOVE ON
5 Day Program (M-F) 2 Classes
As children move into our 4s classes, they bring with them the strong social foundation developed during their 2s and 3s years. They understand their importance as members of the classroom community, are able to care for themselves and others, and feel comfortable learning in pairs, small groups, and whole-group settings. Children continue to strengthen their ability to navigate social situations through conversation, cooperation, and problem-solving.
With this solid social-emotional foundation in place, our oldest students are ready to engage in deeper exploration and more in-depth curricular studies. Four-year-olds are naturally full of questions, and teachers guide them in learning how to investigate and discover answers. Children explore ideas through books, conversations with peers and adults, hands-on experimentation, and real-world experiences—building confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning that prepares them for kindergarten and beyond.
Lunch Bunch is offered to fully potty-trained students who would like to stay for an extra hour after school. During this time, children enjoy outdoor play on the playground (weather permitting) followed by a picnic-style lunch in our beautiful courtyard. Lunch is provided by parents.
